Common Mistakes to Avoid
When to See a Doctor
Stop diving and consult an ENT specialist if you experience any of these:
- ■ Persistent ear pain lasting more than a few hours after a dive
- ■ Blood coming from the ear or nose after diving
- ■ Hearing loss, ringing (tinnitus), or muffled hearing
- ■ Dizziness or vertigo during or after a dive
- ■ Ear that won't equalize at all despite being healthy and congestion-free
- ■ History of ear surgery or perforated eardrum
