About SS Suddhadib / Hardeep

The Hardeep (originally SS Suddhadib) is the Gulf of Thailand's most important historical wreck — a British-built cargo vessel bombed and sunk by Japanese aircraft on June 26, 1942 during WWII. Lying on her port side at 26–28m, the 100m wreck is remarkably well-preserved. Massive groupers and schools of barracuda inhabit the wreck, and the hull is covered in soft corals and sponges. This is a pilgrimage dive for wreck diving enthusiasts.
