About Koh Ma
Koh Ma is the standout dive site on Koh Phangan — a tiny island connected to the main island by a natural sandbar that emerges at low tide. The reef around the island features healthy hard and soft corals, with the deeper northern side dropping to 24m where hawksbill turtles, barracuda, and occasional reef sharks patrol. The shallow southern side is perfect for snorkeling.
Tips
Walk across the sandbar at low tide for free shore access. The northwest side has the healthiest coral.
Experience Required
Snorkeling to intermediate. North side requires more experience.
