About Japanese Gardens

Japanese Gardens is a gently sloping reef on the south side of Koh Nang Yuan, protected from currents and waves. The shallow depth and calm conditions make it Koh Tao's most popular site for first-time divers and snorkelers. Don't let the "beginner" label fool you — the site has an astonishing variety of macro life including multiple seahorse species, ghost pipefish, and ornate nudibranchs. Green and hawksbill turtles are seen on almost every dive.

Tips

Enter from the Nang Yuan beach side for the easiest access. Look carefully in the anemones for porcelain crabs.
