About Khanom Coast

The Khanom coast in Nakhon Si Thammarat province is home to approximately 50 Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, locally known as "pink dolphins" due to their pinkish skin tone. These endangered cetaceans are best spotted before 8am, particularly at Laem Prathab and Ao Kwang Phao. The area has no established dive infrastructure — it serves primarily as a dolphin watching destination and departure point for Koh Kra liveaboard trips.

Tips

Arrive before sunrise for best dolphin sighting chances. Laem Prathab and Ao Kwang Phao are the hotspots.
